Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Sept 22: Seven ships carrying fertiliser, crude oil and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Four ships, Iran Kordestan, MOL Silver Fern, to unload and load containers, Oriental Protea to unload chemicals and Chitral to unload and load general cargo were berthed after the departure of six.

The ships, which departed included Y.M. Sita, Hyundai Future, Sea Beauty, Ju Bao Men, Serife and Oriental Protea, while MOL Silver Fern, Thor Captain, AS-1, Iran Kordestan and Huang Shan are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 95,833 tons comprising 10,052 tons of export cargo and 85,781 tons of import tonnage including 5,798 tons of imported sugar was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Johar, with crude oil, Maersk Arkansas, Mar Calabria, Wan hai-303 and Yang Jiang He, with containers, Getaldic, with 37,906 tons of fertiliser and Iron Butterfly, with project cargo.
