KARACHI, Sept 21: Four ships carrying containers, rapeseeds and chemicals were accommodated berths at QICT, MPT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with diesel oil, furnace oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 60pc as eight ships, CSAV Ningbo, ACX Mimosa, Mumbai Express, Ilaria, New Toyokaze, Santa Barbara and Lady Jasmine, were busy in loading and unloading containers, sugar, seeds, edible oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 38,789 tons comprising 30,102 tons of import and 8,687 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as CSAV Ningbo and New Toyakaze left the port while Ilaria and Mumbai Express were due to depart.
