Trade bodies elect heads, members

KARACHI, Sept 21: The following have been elected as heads and office-bearers of various trade bodies for the year 2006-07: Sh Saqib Saeed Masood has been unanimously elected chairman and Usman Umar vice-chairman of the Pakistan Tanners Association (south zone) for the year 2006-07.

The following were elected as executive committee members: Sh M. Afzal Hussain, Hamid Arshad Zahur, Gohar Rashid, Salman Firoz, M. Saleem Nazar Ali, Shahid Mahmud, Zia Shafiq and Abrar Ahmed.

Masroor Ahmad Alvi has been elected unopposed chairman of the Fedeeral B Area Association of Trade and Industry. Muahmmad Farooque Bakaly and Muzammil Husain were elected senior vice-chairman and vice-chairman, respective.

Aslam Faruque has been elected chairman of the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) Sindh zone. Ahmed Ebrahim Hasham and Mian Kausar Hameed have been elected members and Imran A. Habib member PSMA (SZ) on PSMA central.

Muzzamil Hussain has been elected chairman of the Towel Manufacturers’ Association of Pakistan. Feroze Alam Lari and Sanaullah Dogar have been elected vice-chairmen. Officer-bearers elected are: S. Usman Ali, Waqar Alam, Haji Muhammad Arif Dogar, Shaikh Sajjad Ali, Nisar Ali Ahmed Baghati, Mian Javed Aziz Shaikh and Falak Sher Dogar.

Zaid Bashir has been elected chairman of the Landhi Association of Trade and Industry (LATI). Dawood Usman Jakhura and Riaz Ahmed have been elected senior vice-chairman and vice-chairman, respectively.

The managing committee members of the LATI for the year 2006-07 included Ziad Bashir, Zain Bashir, Murtaza Teli, Sajid Haroon, Muhammad Ali Tabba, Riaz Ahmed, Dwood Jakhura, Shahid Soorty, Afzal Umer, Mustafar Teli, Riaz Chennoy, Shahbaz Ali Malik and Rauf Farooki.
