11 killed in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Sept 18: Eleven Muslims were found hacked to death allegedly by the Tamil Tiger rebels ob Monday. Police said the mangled bodies were found deep in eastern jungle territory of the country.

The men had gone to the interior of the Ampara district on Sunday to repair a water tank, sources said.

The government blames the Tamil Tigers for the killings.

Muslims in the area say there has been recent discord between Tamils and Muslims over land issues.
