Pakistan outplay Yemen

ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: Pakistan defeated Yemen 25-16, 25-16, 25-20 in a Pool `D’ match of the 13th Asian junior volleyball championship in Tehran on Friday.

According to information available here, Thailand and Yemen failed to enter the round robin of the competition after losing two matches each.

According to the regulations, only winners of the four groups will join the top seeds Iran, Japan, Korea and Qatar in the quarter-finals. Pakistan will play their quarter-final against India.

The championship will also serve as a qualification tournament for 2007 Junior World Championship.—APP
