SC judges sworn in

ISLAMABAD, Sept 14: Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Ghulam Rabbani were sworn as ad-hoc Judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan here Thursday. Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, administered the oath of their office in a simple ceremony held in the Ceremonial Hall of the Supreme Court.

President Pervez Musharraf had extended the tenure of Justice Hamid Ali Mirza, as ad-hoc Judge under Article 182 of the Constitution appointed Justice Ghulam Rabbani, Judge Sindh High Court also as ad hoc judge for a period of six month.

The Judges of the Supreme Court, office-bearers of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and Pakistan Bar Council, other law officers of the government attended the ceremony. Dr. Faqir Hussain Registrar, other Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Law and Justice Commission also attended the ceremony.
