PESHAWAR, Sept 11: Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai informed a US military delegation here on Monday that high-value targets like Osama Bin Laden and others would in no way benefit from the North Waziristan Agency’s peace accord.

Talking to an 11-member delegation, led by Defence Security Cooperation Agency Director Lt-Gen Jaffery Kohler, Mr Aurakzai said the peace agreement between the government and militants had paved way for restoration of peace in the restive North Waziristan Agency.

According to a handout, the governor said that all objectives had been achieved peacefully.

Regarding presence of foreigners, he said the agreement provided that all foreigners had to leave the area and those who wanted to stay were bound to abide by the agreement and remain peaceful without indulging in any sort of militancy on either side of the border.

He said the agreement had a comprehensive implementation and monitoring mechanism through a committee, comprising tribal maliks, clerics and officials of the political administration.
