WANA, Sept 11: Police found a headless body in a remote town on the Afghan border on Monday, a day after gunmen shot dead a pro-Afghan elder in the tribal area, security officials said.

The body was found in Karwan Manza village in South Waziristan, a security official said.

The body had been mutilated beyond recognition, he said.

Earlier, gunmen sprayed bullets from a car, killing Malik Mohammad Ali, an elder of the Kakakhel Waziri clan in Wana late on Sunday, a local administration official said.—AFP
