PESHAWAR, Feb 12: The NWFP government has banned private practice by all the government-employed doctors, including the teaching staff, says a notification.

It said that the private practice by all government doctors at any place or premises, except within the boundaries of the health institutions/hospitals concerned, shall stand banned with immediate effect. The ban will also be applicable to practice in government residences situated within the premises of health institutions/hospitals.

All administrative posts will be non-practising posts and the rates of allowance shall be as determined by the government from time to time.

To enable the government doctors to wind up their private practices a period of 15 days from the issuance of the notification has been allowed. After that period, action will be taken against the defiant under the NWFP Civil Servants Removal From Service (Special Powers) Ordinance, 2000, for misconduct.
