KARACHI, Sept 9: Four ships carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals were berthed at QICT, Fotco Terminal and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, seven more ships carrying container, sugar, coke and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as eight ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, seeds, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals.

A record cargo volume of 0.101 million tons comprising 0.082 million tons of import and 0.019 million tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing was active as Mega-I and Cumbria left the port while Xiang Wan, Sealand Mariner, Yanaseni and Frontier Express were due to depart.
