Two killed by rivals

LAHORE, Sept 4: Two people were shot dead and as many others injured allegedly by rivals in Chuhng here on Monday.

Police said Babar Ali, 22, of Gattha group along with his five-year old brother, Waqar, had left his house in Shahdab Colony by a car when some armed men of the Khokhar group intercepted them and opened fire.

Babar, Waqar, driver Safdar and a passerby, Younas, sustained serious injuries. They were taken to Jinnah Hospital where Babar and Safdar were pronounced dead. The condition of Waqar and Younas was stated to be out of danger.

The police said both the groups had an enmity for the last 20 years, and about two- dozen men had lost their lives so far.

FOUND DEAD: The body of a middle-aged man, unidentified so far, was found in the Lower Mall area on Monday.

The police claimed that the deceased seemed to be an addict.

The body has been sent to the city mortuary. A woman was found dead in her house in New Anarkali. —Staff Reporter
