DARRA ADAMKHEL, Sept 2: A watchman was injured and 12 shops were damaged when an explosive device went off at a shopping centre in the gun-manufacturing town of Darra Adamkhel in the Frontier Region of Kohat, on Saturday.

Witnesses said the explosion occurred around 4am at the Malik Nawab market, famous for video games, VCR and CDs business.

The injured watchman was identified as Fazal Ghani. He was taken to a hospital, where, witnesses said, his condition was critical.

It was the second explosion in the Malik Nawab market, sources said, adding that the administration had neither arrested culprits nor compensated shopkeepers for the losses.

The sources said that the Saturday’s blast was the seventh in the Darra Adamkhel bazar, which had mainly targeted shops of billiard and video games, VCR and CDs.
