MUZAFFARABAD, Sept 1: Protests and processions against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti, were held across Azad Kashmir on the call of Pakistan People’s Party (AJK PP) here on Friday.

After staging the protest, funeral prayers for the late Nawab were offered. People chanted slogans against the government. The protesters demanded registration of an FIR against killers.

Due to heavy downpour in Muzaffarabad, workers of AJK PP staged a protest in central press club.

Addressing the rally in Dhir Kot, President of PP Chaudhry Abdul Majid demanded resignation of the federal government and establishment of an interim government to conduct free, fair and transparent elections for a democratic government.

He acused the rulers of committing extra-judicial killing. “Country’s integrity and solidarity was on the verge of collapse while the country’s borders are insecure,” he said, adding that only democratic government could bring the country out of chaos.—Online
