PESHAWAR, Aug 29: Contract Teachers Association (CTA) has urged the authorities that priority be given to 189 subject specialists currently working with the education department, in recruitment for 500 vacancies to be filled through the Public Service Commission.

Waheed Murad, CTA provincial president, told newsmen the subjects specialists were working on contract basis and their contracts were about to expire. “The government must fill the announced 500 post with these teachers keeping in view their teaching experience,” he said.

Hamadullah, vice-president of the association, said the teachers working on contract were appointed through the prevalent procedure of the appointments. “They have qualified the ETEA test and fulfilled all other requirements before being appointed,” he said.
