Improved show by shooters

KARACHI, Aug 26: Pakistani marksmen have improved upon their last performance by finishing the ongoing 10th South Asian Games with five golds, five silvers and 11 bronze, secretary, National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) Khalid Javed told Dawn from Colombo on Saturday.

Maqbool Hussain Tabassum was the star performer as he clinched three golds in the centre fire pistol, rapid fire pistol and standard pistol competitions.

Pakistan also established two new marks in the individual and team event of rapid fire pistol.

The NRAP official said Pakistan had won two golds in skeet event at the last games but unfortunately it was dropped this time.

The shooting team is due to return home on Tuesday.
