Medical stores run by quacks sealed

GUJRANWALA, Aug 25: Over two dozen medical stores being run by quacks in the district were sealed by the district drug inspector on Friday. Reports said that drug inspector Ehsan Elahi Cheema raided medical stores and clinics in Aimanbad, Kamoki, Alipur Chattha, Wazirabad, Ghakkar town and interior parts of city from where his team recovered fake and expired medicines and used syringes. Some raids yielded veterinary medicines which the quacks were using on humans.

It was learnt most of the quacks managed to escape during the raids.

RECOVERED: Two sisters who were abducted from Gondlanwala some two weeks ago were recovered by Aroop Town police from Rawalpindi.

Police said that Shazia and Saima were abducted by co-villagers Pervaiz and Zahid. On the report of their parents, a raid was conducted in Pindi which yielded the girls and the accused.

LOOTED: Prof M. Yasin was on his way along with his wife by a motorcycle. When he reached near their house on Naushera Road, two outlaws riding a bike deprived him and his wife of gold worth of Rs150,000, cash and three cell phones.

EXECUTED: Convict Tahri of Talwandi Khajoorwali, Cantonment, who had killed his cousin Hafiz Farooq Ahmed 13 years ago, was hanged in the local jail on Friday.
