LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Aug 25: Three Afghan women collecting sand were buried alive when a dune caved in on Friday morning. The women were taking out from the dune at Gagra village, about a kilometre from Landi Kotal Bazaar when suddenly the dune caved in killing them instantly.

The bodies were recovered by the Khasadaar and Khyber Rifles men.

Power cut off: The Tribal Electricity Supply Company (TESCO) suspended power supply to all shops in the commercial area in Landi Kotal Bazaar and Torkham due to non-payment of bills.

Electricity meteres were installed by the company forcing them to pay fixed bills but power was cut off when some 800 shops in Landi Kotal Bazaar and almost the same number of shops in Torkham did not pay the electricity bills for the last few months.—Correspondent
