16 injured in two Quetta blasts

QUETTA, Aug 24: Sixteen people including two girls, were injured in two bomb blasts in Model Town close to a busy bus stand and headquarters of the Frontier Corps, here on Thursday.

“The first blast took place when a car parked near Pemra office blew up destroying three cars and damaging several nearby buildings,” police said.

The device was planted in a silver grey car About 200 yards away from the Pishin bus stand, FC headquarters and PTV Quetta Centre at 5.40pm rocking the whole area.

As officials started investigation, another powerful explosion took place at the other corner of the same plot.

“Many people working in offices of different private companies received injuries,” said Aslam Kurd, a nazim of union council who witnessed the scene.

Around a dozen government and private offices were affected in the blasts. The wall of the Pemra office collapsed.
