Usman bags five-wkt haul

LAHORE, Aug 24: A five-wicket haul by spinner Usman Ali enabled North Zone Blues restrict West Zone Blues for 134 in the PCB Inter-district senior cricket championship Lahore region fixture at the Railways Stadium on Thursday.

Usman claimed five for 36 as West Zone Blues’ innings lasted just 43.4 overs.

At stumps North Zone Blues were 57 for one with opener Raza Ali batting at 41.

Only 21 overs were bowled in the match between East Zone Blues and West Zone Whites due to rain at the Model Town Club ground.

Batting first, East Zone Blues were 67 for two.

Three quick wickets by medium-pacer Salman Rahat put North Zone Whites in a strong position against East Zone Whites at the LCCA Ground.

Salman had East Zone Whites struggling at 73-4 in pursuit of a target of 205.

Earlier, medium-pacer Wasim Khan grabbed five for 35 as North Zone Whites were dismissed for 204 in 67.4 overs.
