NAWABSHAH, Aug 24: Five more people died of gastroenteritis in different parts of the district on Thursday. Asma, 5, daughter of Wahid Bux; Humera, 30, wife of Naubat Khan Chandio; Wahid Mahar, 40, Yaqoob Mahar, 32, and one unidentified man died of the virus in village Mohammad Chandio and Dorai Mahar.

Dozens of others were admitted in the People’s Medical College and other hospitals of the district.

When contacted Executive District Officer Health Dr Abdul Khaliq Mangnejo said some 900 people in villages, including Meeral Leghari, Bahadur Jakhio, Ditto Jamali, Allah Warayo Khoso and Mohammad Khan Chandio, had fallen victim to the gastroenteritis during the last one week.

KHAIRPUR: Thirty more persons, including women and children, have contracted the virus of gastroenteritis in taluka Sobhodero and adjoining areas.

They belong to village Illahi Bux Unnar, Adam Kalhoro, Leemon Shaikh.

Villagers complained that the health department had not taken any preventive steps.

PAGORO: Pir Pagaro has urged his followers to utilise their time and earn their livelihood actively.

Talking to delegations here on Wednesday, Mr Pagaro said he was happy to see that some educated girls were coming forward among his followers. He advised the followers to be ready for elections, enrol their name in voters lists and get their computerized national identity cards.
