KARACHI, Aug 24: Site industrial area, the largest revenue-producing zone of Pakistan, remained affected by stagnant rainwater and sewage on Thursday, even one week after heavy rains, causing hardship to thousands of industrialists and industrial workers.

The industries also had suffered huge losses in the rains as the units and their adjoining streets were submerged and all Industrial activities had come to a standstill. Disruption in power supply added to the losses.

“We were badly effected during rains as it destroyed the sewerage system of a large area of Site whereas the rainwater accumulated on streets and also entered in industrial units,” said Ameen Bandukda, Chairman of the Site.—PPI
