Scattered rain causes mugginess

Published August 24, 2006

LAHORE, Aug 23: Downtown Lahore received rain on Wednesday which later made weather muggy in the rest of the city. The rain lashed areas in and around the Walled City and The Mall at around noon and continued for over one hour with brief intervals.

The rain repeatedly blocked traffic on The Mall as constables took refuge.

But soon they had to return in view of the muddles, which created a great deal of convenience for people.

The local Met office recorded 5mm of rain at its Jail Road office. The maximum temperature was 36 degrees C and the minimum 27.5 degrees C with 68 per cent humidity in the morning and 58 per cent in the evening.

The Met office forecast chances of more thunderstorm and rain in the city during the next 24 hours.
