LAHORE, Feb 11: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) may shortly install distribution point (DP) on the premises of its customers to end the complaint of misuse of telephone line.

Mr Ikram Khan, director-general operations of newly-established Central Zone, told Dawn here on Monday that a formal proposal in this regard has already been sent to the headquarters and it was under “active consideration.”

The proposal was designed to end consistent complaints of misuse of telephone connections at the DP. Once a customer has proper wiring, the telephone cable could be extended and DP installed on his premises, he said.

It would also keep the PTCL staff off the limits of the house and help avoid any security risk that any unscrupulous staff member could cause to any customer. These benefits would be in addition to shedding the PTCL staff’s responsibility for upkeep of telephone lines inside the house and spare them for better maintenance of lines, he added.
