PESHAWAR, Aug 23: Police have not been able to capture a person who allegedly gunned down his mother and three sisters in Sethi Town here on Monday. Sayed Ali Shah had dug five graves in a house in his ancestral Mohib Banda village in Pabbi. On Monday morning, he shot dead his mother Pukhraj Begum and sisters Sabaunisa, Zaibunisa and Farzana.

He allegedly transported two bodies to the village. The Pabbi police got wind of the killing when he was bringing the other two.

Shah escaped, leaving the vehicle with two bodies in the Mohib Banda locality, said an official of the Chamkani police where a case has been registered.

The official said that police had taken into custody Sayed Kaleem Shah, elder brother of the accused, and some female members of the family.

Kaleem told the police their elder sister had been married to Liaquat Ali some time ago, but her in-laws was mistreating her.

He said his brother was upset on the plight of their sister, adding that this might have forced him to kill his unmarried sisters to save them from a ‘bad future’.

The police official, however, said the actual cause of the killing could be established only after the accused was arrested.
