ISLAMABAD, Feb 11: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has condemned the Israeli attack on the headquarters of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

In a statement issued here on Monday, the PPP acting secretary-general, Raza Rabbani, said the fact that President Arafat had been confined in Ramallah for the past two months, and the Western countries were silent over the issue, was also a matter of deep concern.

This latest wave of bombings is an attempt to sabotage the peace process and the international efforts to end the 16-month crisis which has left almost 12,00 people dead, he added.

Mr Rabbani said such acts of aggression could not break the will of the Palestinian people or keep them from achieving their legitimate right to have a separate state.— Our Reporter
