KARACHI, Aug 21: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Livestock and Fisheries Fakir Mohammed Jadim Mangrio on Monday declared emergency in view of the rain and flood situation, and directed cancellation of leave of all staff of his department.

He ordered immediate establishment of a central control room in Hyderabad, and relief centres at district level under the supervision of district officers.

He called for the setting up of relief centres at protective embankments, issued directives regarding arrangements for treatment of livestock in the rain-affected areas.

He stressed that the presence of senior veterinary doctors, medicines and vaccines at all relief centres be ensured.

Mr Mangrio advised people to bring their animals to these centres for vaccination. He warned staff of his department that negligence in discharge of duty would not be tolerated.—APP
