KARACHI, Feb 11: The Sindh government has decided to celebrate “Sindh Sea Carnival” during this autumn in a befitting manner.

A preliminary meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of Governor Mohammedmian Soomro here on Monday.

The meeting was attended by PERK Vice-Chairman Shahid Firoz, Yasmin Lari, Adnan Asad, Principal Secretary Brig Akhtar Zamin, Culture Secretary Ashiq Memon, Fish Harbour Authority Chairman Commander Tayyab Naqvi and other officials.

It was decided that all Sindh districts would be given representation in the carnival and government will provide all possible help for making it a memorable event with community cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sindh governor stressed the need for introducing handicrafts, traditions and cultures of all parts of the province. He also called for using the occasion to beautify the beaches.

The governor asserted that economic revival and introduction of art, culture and traditions should be the basic objective of all events and provision of facilities to the people. The beautification of beaches and holding of carnival should not be restricted for any specific segment.—APP
