KARACHI, Aug 12: Three ships to load and offload containers and cement were allotted berths at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying diesel oil and coke also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 89 per cent as eight ships, Nedlloyd Muscat, Ibn Sina, Adrekni, Precious, Constantinos-G,

Stolt Avenir, Anette Kosan and Turn Berry Glory, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, sugar, edible oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 74,759 tons comprising 46,770 tons of import and 27,989 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Stolt Avenir, Anette Kosan, Precious and

Ibn Sina left the port. While Sima Pars, Eternal Diligence, Liquid Success and Bright Kosan were due to take berths.
