KARACHI: Suspect killed in shootout

KARACHI, Aug 11: Police on Friday killed a suspect and arrested his accomplice in what they claimed an encounter in the PECHS.

A duty officer of the Ferozabad police station said two suspects were sitting close to a Habib Bank Branch near community centre. As a police party patrolling the area approached them, they tried to flee, and opened fire on the police.

During the chase, the police returned the fire after which one of the suspects was killed. His other accomplice was arrested who was later identified as Ibrahim.

Police claimed recovery of TT pistol from his possession. The suspect killed in the encounter was identified as Nadeem, 22. Police shifted his body to Jinnah Hospital for legal formalities.
