KARACHI, Aug 7: Four ships including Zara-3, carrying 17,000 tons of sugar, are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. A dozen ships were berthed on the wharves to unload sugar, containers and to load naphtha. They are: Nord Woge, Mondena, Corin Thaikos, Cape Santaigo, to unload and load containers, Weston to offload sugar, Marenduk and Persia, to unload and load general cargo, Thor Jasmine, to offload steel, Ocean Grace to offload high speed diesel, Rising One, and Shogun to load naphtha and Al-Marwah to unload chemical.

Sailing was also fairly brisk as 11 vessels departed. They are: Oel Aishwarya, Tower Bridge, Global Prosperity, Cape Samtiang, Nore Woge, Ro Ro Saim, Mondena, Dendan, Victoria-1, Southern Imperial and Shogun, while Multan, Thor Jasmine, Ocean Grace, Al-Marwah, Persia, Swat and Rising One are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.144m tons comprising 39,513 tons of export cargo including 1,632 tons of rice and 875 tons of cement and 0.101m tons of import tonnage, which also included 3,895 tons of sugar.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Zara-3, with 17,000 tons of sugar, Makran and An Yua Jiang, with general cargo and APL Osaka, with containers.
