KARACHI, Aug 6: Fancied three-year-old bay colt, The Conqueror’s, made amends for his last defeat when he posted one and a half length victory in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Beaten to second place by Black Girl in his last outing he was smartly ridden home by M. Nasir and obliged the punters.

Mare, Countess Mah Again, settled for second while finishing further five lengths behind was colt Lucky Friend. Jadi Nagri completed the board.

The Div I five furlongs race was third in the order but the programme was reversed after opening two races which were held in light drizzle.

With two successive wins under her belt, four-year-old chestnut filly, Fantasia, pulled off an upset when she galloped to facile six lengths victory to register hat trick and claim the feature event.

Favourite Sea Wave was beaten to second place followed by Arab Hi Arab.

Earlier, Jaguar overcame a bad patch when he was sprinted to facile eight lengths victory by Mohammad Essa in the opener.

Essa also piloted favourite Yes Neighbour Yes home by nine and a quarter lengths to complete a fine double.

Tun Baba Tun created quite a stir when he came out with flying colours beating First Shot by two and a half lengths.

Dark bay colt, Hot Strides, with Tariq Baran astride, made it two in a row beating public fancy Jack In The Box by two and a half lengths.

Filly Queen Of Mirwa and filly Gwenivare also proved their mettle by winning the honours.
