HYDERABAD, Aug 6: The People’s Party Parliamentarians has demanded that the government should withdraw the condition of producing CNIC for registration of names in voters’ lists as overwhelming majority of the people has not been issued cards by Nadra.

At a meeting of the district executive committee of the party on Sunday, leaders discussed the situation arising out of non-issuing of CNICs to the people.

PPP district president Zahid Bhurgari presided over the meeting. MNA Amir Ali Shah Jamote, Sindh council member Fayaz Shah, Saleem Shah Bukhari, Mir Fateh Talpur and Amanullah Siyal participated in the meeting.

The meeting demanded that the election commission should ensure registration of genuine Pakistanis in voter lists as the election commission had not been able to ensure issuing of CNICs to people in the interior Sindh.

The meeting demanded that false cases against Benazir Bhutto should be withdrawn.
