Published August 6, 2006

LAHORE, Aug 5: There was partial curtailment of gas supply to cement and power sectors following the disruption of a 30-inch diameter transmission line from Sui Gas

Fields on Saturday due to sabotage activity but no curtailment of gas supply to any city or town in Punjab and the NWFP.

Disclosing this in a statement issued here on Saturday, a Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited spokesman said that the rupture of gas pipeline had resulted only in partial curtailment of gas supply.

The SNGPL continued to supply approximately 1,470 MMCFD gas and had not curtailed supply to any city of town in its areas of operation in the NWFP and Punjab. Repair of the ruptured gas supply line had been started and would be completed within the shortest possible time.
