ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: The Inter Services Intelligence on Wednesday told the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court that a man, Imran, who had been missing for a week, was not in the custody of the agency.

Raja Iftikhar Javed represented the intelligence agency in the court of Justice Abdul Shakoor Paracha and denied that the missing person had been kidnapped by any official of the agency. He said that the ISI had no knowledge about Imran’s whereabouts.

In addition to the counsel for the intelligence agency, SHO, secretariat, also appeared before the court and said that he did not know where Imran was.

Later, the judge ruled that the telephone number of the man who had called Mr Imran be secured and the cellphone company be approached to trace the person who called Imran before his disappearance.

Imran had recently returned from Malaysia and had gone with his father Dr Munir for some household chores about a week ago.

Mr Imran is reported to have allegedly received a phone call from one Brig Mansoor purportedly of the ISI, asking to meet him in person.

Mr Imran had gone to meet the ‘brigadier’ but had not returned since then, his father stated in the petition.
