LAHORE, Aug 2: Punjab Excise and Taxation department on Wednesday announced a five per cent rebate facility for those who will pay their property tax on or before Aug 31.

The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by provincial minister Dr Muhammad Shafiq. He said the rebate facility had been extended to promote a culture of paying tax on time.

The minister said as the government was committed to providing relief to the people so all five-marla houses throughout the province had been exempted from property tax.

He asked the people to contact top department officers, including the secretary, immediately, in case of any rebate-related problem. “My office is open for everyone and no complaint received in my office is ignored”, he claimed. —Staff Reporter
