CHINIOT: Three policemen were suspended from service on Saturday for raiding a house in plain clothes.

District Police officer Naveed Atif took the punitive action against three constables, Shahzeb, Aqeel and Ehsan, of the Rajoa Police Station for misconduct and launched a probe into the event whose footage went viral on social media.

Earlier, a video went viral in which the above-mentioned policemen were seen being beaten up by some women in unknown crop fields while these cops were using abusive language against the women.

It was revealed that the policemen from the Rajoa Police Station had gone to Chak 130-JB to arrest some suspects in plain clothes where the women, perceiving them as robbers, started resistance and tore off their clothes. When this video went viral, the DPO took notice and suspended the policemen from service. He appointed SP Muhammad Afzaal to inquire into the incident.

CCD ENCOUNTER: Two suspects were killed while a policeman was injured during an encounter involving the Crime Control Department (CCD).

A CCD team, headed by ASI Muhammad Nasrullah, was present on the road near Chak 227-JB, Diluwala Bridge, at 2am in search of criminals when a car appeared. When they signalled it to stop, the car riders stopped the car and entered the crop fields from where they opened fire at the police.

Some bullets hit the official vehicle and Constable Pervaiz Hussain. The CCD retaliated and a shoot-out started. When the guns went silent after 10 minutes, the police found two suspects in an injured condition.
