ZAMZAM water holds special religious and spiritual significance for Muslims. Research has been conducted over the years regarding the chemical, mineral and microbiological characteristics of Zamzam water, and its potential effects on human health. Through appropriate scientific methodology, the Islamabad-based Health Research Institute may undertake a study to determine if there are any particular benefits of the water on the cardiovascular system. Such a study may explore if the Zamzam water contains properties or constituents that may potentially have protective effects against oxidative stress, inflammation or damage to cardiac tissues. In the event that any such potential application is identified, its compatibility with tissues, infection-control requirements, electrolyte balance, and other relevant medical safety considerations should be scientifically evaluated.
