LAHORE, Aug 1: The bullet-ridden body of a businessman was found in the Ichhra area on Tuesday. The family of Shaikh Zahid told police that he left for home in his car in Cavalry Ground after closing his electronics shop in Shah Alam on Monday about 10.30pm.

Shaikh Zahid made a phone call on the cell of his daughter about 11.15pm, asking her to give him the personal identity number (PIN) code of an ATM card and also informed her that he was on Egerton Road.

Suspecting robbers might have kidnapped Zahid, the family informed the police on the emergency number. The family said that the police informed it that they had radioed the message.

On early Tuesday, his bullet-ridden body was found in his car on Shama Road. The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy. The police are investigating. —Staff Reporter
