The reports of US strikes on Iran’s Qeshm island have come after President Donald Trump signalled progress in talks with Iran to avoid a return to war.
A deal with Tehran “could happen,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, according to AFP.
“Iran wants a settlement, as soon as possible,” he said.
