DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Transporters went on strike on Saturday to protest against the municipal administration’s decision to shift vehicles operating from Tank Adda (bus station) to a new terminal set up in the Korai area.

Vehicle services to various areas remained suspended throughout the day, causing inconvenience to commuters.

The transporters said the new terminal lacked basic facilities and that the law and order situation in the area was also a concern.

They said the relocation would create problems for both transporters and passengers, and urged the municipal administration to review its decision.

They demanded that Tank Adda remain at its current location and opposed being compelled to move to Korai. The transporters warned that they would continue the strike if the decision was not withdrawn, holding the relevant authorities responsible for any resulting disruption.
