Seven patients were admitted in the Holy Family Hospital’s dengue ward,” said Dr Jawad, District Health Officer Preventive.

He said that during the last two days, the dengue serology report of four new patients was received, including three on Friday and one on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the district administration directed the immediate strengthening of field surveillance.

“Negligence, absenteeism, or the reporting of fictitious activities regarding ongoing anti-dengue measures will not be tolerated under any circumstances; immediate action must be taken against those responsible,” Fazail Mudassar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Social Services) stated this while chairing the meeting of the District Emergency and Response Committee for Dengue Control held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Rawalpindi.

The meeting was attended by the District Health Officer (DHO) and officials from other relevant departments. During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding the overall performance of the anti-dengue campaign, the status of patients, indoor and outdoor surveillance, the detection of larvae, activities at identified hotspots and the performance of field teams.

It was reported during the briefing that, as of October 31, 2026, 83 confirmed dengue cases have been recorded in Rawalpindi, compared to 1,586 cases during the same period last year—marking a significant decline in dengue cases this year.
