Six killed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, July 31: Six people were killed in shootings and 10 wounded in a grenade attack on a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims in occupied Kashmir, police and the army said on Monday.

Indian troops shot dead four Kashmiri militants during a fierce gunbattle near the LoC.

“The four were killed during a gunbattle that erupted late on Sunday in the (northern) Gurez sector,” army spokesman Hemant Joneja said.

Police said a civilian was also killed in the crossfire and suspected militants shot dead a civilian late on Sunday.—AFP
