SWAT: A month-long special cleanliness campaign has been launched in Mingora and other areas under the jurisdiction of Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Swat as part of the provincial government’s Clean and Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initiative.

The campaign was launched the other day on the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary to improve sanitation, ensure effective waste management, and provide residents with a clean, healthy environment.

To mark the launch, Swat Deputy Commissioner Adnan Abrar and WSSC Chief Executive Officer Babar Khan Tanoli organised an awareness walk. Relevant officials, company staff and sanitation workers participated in the walk, highlighting the importance of cleanliness and the need for public cooperation in maintaining a hygienic urban environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Abrar said the Clean and Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initiative was an important step towards improving sanitation services across the province and providing citizens with a healthier environment.

He said particular attention was being given to sanitation arrangements in all village and neighbourhood councils.

He added that measures would be taken to clean streets, roads, markets, drains and public places.

Mr Tanoli said the campaign aimed to strengthen sanitation services in Mingora and other areas covered by the company and ensure a clean and healthy environment for residents.

He said that although the special drive had initially been planned for one month, the company would make every possible effort to ensure timely waste collection, proper disposal of garbage, and improved sanitation services.

He stressed the importance of effective field operations and the proper discharge of responsibilities by sanitation staff.
