RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case against a doctor at a private clinic and detained him after a five-year-old girl lost her life allegedly after receiving a wrong injection in the Morgah police area on Saturday.
The police registered the case on the complaint of the victim’s uncle.
The complainant said in the FIR that he and his brother took Jannat Fatima to the doctor’s private clinic in Morgah for a check-up after her condition deteriorated at about 7pm on Friday.
He said the doctor immediately administered an injection to her. Upon receiving the injection, the girl collapsed and her complexion turned dark and foam started coming out from her mouth.
The complaint said that after seeing her condition, the doctor asked them to take the girl to a major hospital. Subsequently, the girl was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) where doctors said she had been administered a wrong injection. The doctors at BBH tried their best to revive the girl but she died, he added.
The girl’s uncle alleged that the doctor’s wrong injection had caused his niece’s death and sought legal action against him.
Following the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 322 and 420 of the PPC against the doctor and arrested him.
