Senior Iranian official threatens Israel with swift retaliation over ‘miscalculation’

The head of the Iranian parliament’s national security committee, Ebrahim Azizi, has sent a warning to Israel, saying it could be rendered uninhabitable within an hour, Al Jazeera reports.

“A single miscalculation is all it takes – the occupied lands rendered uninhabitable in under an hour,” he writes on his X account.

Azizi has published the warning in Hebrew, English and Persian.

In his Hebrew post, he has quote-reposted a video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaking at an Israeli army graduation ceremony, where Netanyahu said: “There is only one way to remove this threat once and for all – to topple the regime in Iran. And that is my directive to the [army], the Mossad, and the security forces.”
