DERA MURAD JAMALI: Power supply to several areas of Sindh and Punjab was disrupted from the Uch Power Plant in Nasirabad district after unidentified men blew up a 220kV high-voltage transmission pylon near Dera Murad Jamali, officials said on Saturday.

Nasirabad SSP Asad Khan Nasar stated that an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted under the power pylon in the Goth Mughal Khan Bugti area in the early hours of Saturday.

The powerful blast destroyed the pylon, suspending the power supply to several cities, including Shikarpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Guddu, as well as some areas in Dera Murad Jamali.

Police and security forces secured the site, collected evidence, and launched a search operation following the blast. The bomb disposal squad cleared the area, while officials stated that repairs on the destroyed pylon would begin once security clearance was obtained from the relevant authorities. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
