RAWALPINDI: The commissioner has directed the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to introduce a digital financial management system to avoid financial scams.

A meeting was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) under the chairmanship of the Commissioner, Rawalpindi Division, and the Director General, RDA, Salman Ghani, to review the digitalisation of financial and administrative operations within the authority.

During the meeting, the commissioner directed the concerned officials to introduce a digital financial management system to improve transparency, efficiency, accountability, and the overall performance of the authority.

He emphasised that digital transformation is essential for modernising government institutions and improving the delivery of public services.

He directed the Finance Wing RDA to adopt modern digital solutions for financial transactions, record management, and official correspondence.

He further stressed that the effective use of digital technology would help minimise manual procedures, improve coordination among departments, and ensure timely processing of official matters.

The commissioner highlighted the importance of maintaining accurate financial records and strengthening monitoring mechanisms through digital systems. He directed the finance wing and other concerned RDA Directorates to take coordinated measures for the implementation of the proposed system in accordance with applicable government rules and regulations.

He also emphasised the need for improved financial planning, efficient utilisation of resources, and regular monitoring of departmental performance to ensure better administrative control and institutional accountability.

The RDA officials discussed matters relating to digitalisation and the improvement of existing financial and administrative procedures.

The commissioner directed them to work collaboratively, identify areas requiring digital improvements, and take practical steps towards the effective implementation of the authority’s digital transformation initiatives.
