KARACHI, July 30: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s coordination committee met here on Sunday to prepare its case for the August 1 meeting summoned by the president to resolve the crisis created by resignations of its legislators.

Though MQM founder Altaf Hussain had on Saturday declared that the issue had been resolved, the coordination committee discussed the brief for its negotiating team.

The August 1 meeting, according to reports, will be attended by, besides MQM leaders and provincial chief minister and his supporters, PML chief Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, secretary-general Mushahid Hussain and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

“Things will be cleared after the August 1 meeting. The ball is in the president’s court,” said a source.
