LAHORE, July 30: No clue has so far been found to two motorcyclists who attacked two Camp Jail constables killing one of them and injuring the other on Saturday.

Thirty-two years old Basharat along with colleague Aslam had just come out of the prison gate for dinner when two unidentified motorcyclists intercepted them at the LOS bus stop. They opened indiscriminate fire on them after asking about Basharat. Five bullets hit Basharat while Aslam received three.

They were rushed to the Services Hospital where Basharat, a father of three and hailing from Sangla Hill, died.

DSP Camp Jail Shabraiz says deceased Basharat was deputed at 40 Chakki where prisoners violating jail discipline were kept.

He suspects that some prisoner after quarreling with Basharat over some issue might have got him killed.

Lytton Road police have registered a case against unknown assailants.
