DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Border Military Police (BMP) claimed to have busted a ring comprising Afghan nationals, including two women, allegedly involved in inter-provincial smuggling of ‘ice’ drug.

According to the BMP sources, the suspects – two men and as many women – all Afghan nationals, were attempting to smuggle ice drug worth millions of rupees from Balochistan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, via Punjab. The sources say that cases have been registered against the suspects under relevant sections of anti-narcotics act.

According to BMP Commandant retired Capt Hamza Anjum, the arrests were made in the Rakhi Gaj area, and a large quantity of ‘ice’ drug was recovered from the vehicle being used by the suspects.

The commandant stated that the arrested suspects were residing in Pishin district of Balochistan, adding that efforts will be made to arrest their accomplices and patrons.
